Cousiac Manor | Virginia, Wedding | Valerie + Seth

Valerie + Seth were married at Cousiac Manor in Lanexa, Virginia. It is a fairly new venue and my first time there. It is a quaint, country venue, tucked back along the Pamunkey River.

I first met Valerie + Seth over a FaceTime date, then in person at their engagement session in Yorktown. If you missed it, you can check it out here. Finally their wedding day was here and there was not a cloud in the sky! Perfect weather for their outdoor ceremony overlooking the river and dancing under the string light lined dance floor on the lawn. There was yummy, on site, freshly made pizza, cupcakes and lawn games on hand for their guests to enjoy. Valerie’s emotional dance with her mother made a few people tear up, including me!

Thank you, Valerie + Seth, for choosing me to document your wedding day. I loved getting to know the two of you! You and your families made me feel so welcome that day.

Yorktown, Virginia | Maternity Photography | Kristine + Kevin

I first met Kristine when she came over for coffee. Like me, she was a photography newbie. You can check out her work here. That was 2.5+ years ago now. Since that first meeting we have gotten to know each other over additional coffee dates, wine dates, dinner dates, photography dates, and some fun shopping dates. Pretty much any excuse to hang out we do. Even though not a fun topic, we bonded over our discussions and struggles of infertility. Ups and downs, highs and lows. When she told me she and her husband Kevin were finally expecting I was SO excited for them! Finally, their little miracle was on its way. I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to capture this part of their journey to starting a family. Just a couple short months and I get to meet baby Adaline! Here are some of my favorites from their Yorktown maternity session!

Kristen + Matt | Maternity | Virginia Beach

I feel so honored to have Kristen + Matt in front of my lens for third time! First was engagement, then wedding last year and now they are expecting! I am so, so thrilled for them. They are such a sweet and caring couple and they are going to be stellar parents. We headed to First Landing State Park for their maternity session and it was a warm, but beautiful evening. Can’t wait to meet Baby Kidwell!!!

Miami On Film | Personal

A few weeks ago I had a wonderful opportunity to fly down to Miami to photograph the engagement session for one of my 2016 wedding couples. You can check them out here. I have not had much practice with my film camera and thought this might be a good time as ever to experiment. I am still learning this new dynamic of film but it was fun to get the scans back last weekend and see what I got. Here are a few of the scans from sunny south Florida. Can’t wait to get a few of these printed and on my wall.

Miami, Florida | Engagement | Jaime + Ronen

Two weeks ago I flew down for a short weekend trip to Miami, Florida for Jaime + Ronen’s engagement session. When I first started chatting with Jaime we realized we have a south Florida connection. She and Ronen live there and I use to live there for 6 years after college. It was so fun to connect in that way!

When they decided to fly me down (instead of them coming to Virginia) I was so excited! Not only was I going to shoot somewhere new but I was also, in a small way, going home for a visit.  Man, Miami did not disappoint. The light in south Florida is AH-MAZING! So different then Virginia. The modern designs Miami offers is so inspiring.

Marshall, the cat, also made an appearance during the session. He did so great for being out in a public space. Such a handsome little guy! I can not wait for Jaime + Ronen’s wedding next year at the Williamsburg Inn here in Virginia! Enjoy some of my favorites from this Miami, Florida engagement session!
