Allyssa + Dan | Couples

This post is long over due! My younger brother, Dan, and his wife, Allyssa, came for a quick couple day visit on their way down to Florida at the end of February. They were heading on a week-long cruise. Drew and I were really happy they could stop by, see our new house and spend some time with them. One day while we were out driving around, we stopped at Red Wing Park in Virginia Beach for a quick photo shoot. It was threatening rain but it held off for the 30 minutes we were out there. We got lucky!

Kat Sypien - My favorite shots of Dan and Allyssa are 2R, 5R, 9L, 14, 15, 17L, 19. R=right. L=left. You do such awesome work Sarah!

Melissa + Bill | Couples

I am very excited to be sharing these. I met Melissa 6-ish months ago at a Coast Guard Spouse Association coffee chat event. I didn’t speak to her much that day, but since then we have become good friends. Why I like Melissa…let me count the ways. We both have a thing for baked goods (she is a pastry chef). We both are InSession/HLN trial junkies. Both love the color gray. Both love a good homemade latte. Oh, and she got me hooked on Candy Crush, just to name a few. Side note: if you have not downloaded that app yet beware, you will become addicted. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Melissa and Bill are great company. My husband and I have hung out with them and we always have a great time when we do. They are very genuine people and I could see us being friends with them for a very long time. Unless, of course, Bill bans us from seeing each other because Melissa and I watch too much Nancy Grace. čÖé They have already asked me to take more pictures of them this fall up in Williamsburg. Really looking forward to that!!! Been wanting to get up there to photograph a couple since I moved to the area. In the meantime, enjoy their urban shoot!

Brooke + Joe | Styled – Part I

Part I of Part II of the styled shoot weekend is here! For┬áDiana‘s second look, she wanted to create a 50’s styling. A little 40’s/50’s┬áNotebook inspired. One of my favorite movies, ever! As soon as the word ‘Notebook’ came out of her mouth as she was describing her idea, I screamed “YES”! It didn’t matter what else she said after that. She didn’t need to convince me anymore. Diana knew the perfect couple too and they happily agreed. Brooke + Joe were amazing! They love the camera and the camera loved them. Poor girl, it was soooooo cold out. Brooke never complained, once. They did a great job choosing their own clothing and accessories, too! We kept shooting until it was too dark to shoot. I could have stayed out all day with them. Such a sweet couple! Part II of this session will be on the blog tomorrow!

Jessie Silva - I’m not sure if I’ll ever get over how awesome your work is.

Brooke Chandler - LOVE these SO much!!!! You’re amazing! We had so much fun taking these.

Audrey Hepburn Inspired | Styled

When Diana┬ácontacted me about doing a styled shoot, I didn’t even hesitate! She had these ideas in her head of looks she wanted to try out for her portfolio. She had two ideas. 1) Audrey Hepburn and 2) 50’s. Number 2 will be coming later. This shoot was all about Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Love that movie and Audrey Hepburn in that movie. I am a sucker for classics! On a rainy afternoon you could easily find me on my couch watching something from the 1930’s-1960’s. My friend, Laura, was so gracious to volunteer to play model for us that afternoon. Fun Laura fact: it was her very first up-do! It freezing. And not just cold, but freezing. She hated me every time I told her it was time to take the coat off. I had a coat and jeans on and I couldn’t feel my fingers at one point. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks and warmed up with some hot coffee! It was phenomenal! Thanks again to Diana for choosing me to work with her on this little project. I feel so honored! And,┬áLaura, who did an awesome job. The little fashionista did her own styling for the shoot! Can’t wait to share the 50’s inspired shoot, but equally excited to share these!

Brooke Chandler - These turned out great čÖé Diana did such a good job on her hair!
