Half Moone Wedding | Norfolk, Virginia | Skylar + Andrew

Skylar + Andrew’s wedding at the Half Moone brought a little tropical flavor to south-eastern Virginia. Orange, red and green accents were part of the floral arrangements, which Skylar’s nana, Mary, put together. Along with bird of paradise flowers, that acted as a focal point on the center of all the tables and brought that exotic flare to their theme. Andrew and his guys looked dapper in their navy suits. Skylar’s girls were blushing in pink while the bride wore a gorgeous gold-toned gown from Maya Couture.

It was awesome to work at the Half Moone again and even better that I was able to work with Skylar + Andrew! They were both so easy to work with and had a stellar bridal party at their side. Their family came together the morning of to make their wedding day come together seamlessly. Thank you for allowing me to witness the two of you becoming husband + wife and for choosing me to document your wedding day!

Steinhilber’s Restaurant Wedding | Virginia Beach | Cindy + Mike

Steinhiber’s Restaurant was the perfect setting for Cindy + Mike’s intimate wedding. Surrounded by their very closest friends and family, they declared their commitment to one another on a very sunny day earlier this month. Some tears were shed and a lot of laughter was had. The couple wrote their own vows. There was a discussion after the ceremony about what size font was used on the paper that held their vows. When the bride out-fonts the groom for largest font used, you know you are in for a good time. No reading glasses required!

Cindy + Mike, thank you for sharing such a special day with me and I wish you both the best!

First Landing State Park Engagement | Virginia Beach, Virginia | Skylar + Andrew

What incredible cloud cover we had for Skylar + Andrew’s engagement session at First Landing State Park! Dreamy! It was a windy evening, but Skylar’s beautiful red hair looked so pretty as it moved. Due to scheduling, we were not able to squeeze in their session until recently, but am so glad I was able to work with them before the big day. These two are getting married this Saturday at the Half Moone in Norfolk and I can’t wait to celebrate with them!

Hermitage Museum + Gardens Wedding | Norfolk, VA | Jennifer + Mike

This Hermitage Museum and Gardens wedding was full of color! Jennifer + Mike’s whimsical theme included bright colored lanterns under the tented reception, beautiful bouquets and centerpieces from Palette of Petals, and lounge furniture dressed with bright pillows. Jones soda was the perfect host for their escort cards and doubled as their favors, too. There was a display of cakes for the guests to eye and waffle cones made onsite from Doumar’s, who was there serving ice cream as a special treat. Any wedding serving ice cream moves up as a fav! The entire wedding was so tastefully done and well thought out. So many cute details everywhere you looked. Jill of Sunkissed Events worked her tail off to make it perfect for our clients!

Jenn + Mike, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to come visit you in Philadelphia for your engagement session and for sharing your wedding day with me in Virginia. Can’t wait to see where live takes the two of you, and your sweet puppy!

Hermitage Museum and Gardens Wedding | Norfolk, Virginia | Jami + Brandon

Jami + Brandon’s Hermitage Museum and Gardens wedding was a family affair. The man-of-honor was Jami’s brother and she made sure to include him in the getting ready festivities. Jami’s mom also presented her with a set of family spoons that have been handed down. Photographing spoons on a wedding day was a first for me!

They also included their two pups, Henri + Remi, in the ceremony. So dapper walking down the aisle with a garland around each of their necks from Studio Posy. Instead of a traditional unity candle, the couple had family members bring sand from all over the country, their home lands, to be joined together. Symbolic of where they came from since neither of them are from the Hampton Roads area. What an awesome idea! During the reception, Brandon’s father surprised them by getting a family member on the phone who couldn’t be there and he sang to them for all to hear. Such a sweet and touching moment! Family means so much to them and it showed throughout the day. Sunkissed Events was there to help coordinate the day and they did a fantastic job!

Thank you, Jami + Brandon, for choosing me to document your wedding and for allowing me to get to know the two of you, and your cute fur-babies.
