Trump Winery Wedding | Charlottesville, Virginia | Meghann + Jon

This Trump Winery wedding went out with a bang. Literally. It was beautiful all day, until the last 1.5 hours of the reception. The weather took a turn for the worse. Constant lightening and loud, booming thunder. Several loud cracks made the guests jump, but the party went on! Then, about 15 minutes before the last song, another loud boom, crack and complete darkness. There went the power. Thank goodness for Kerri of Blush Events. She was there to help the guests out to the shuttle under umbrellas and make sure everyone got out ok. I would highly recommend her! By this time, most of the area was flooded. I thought leaving the building to get my car was scary enough with all the lightening, but the drive back to the hotel was the most intense drive of my life. I had never experienced flash flooding before. It exists, people, and it’s no joke. Thankfully my second shooter, Kelley, was in the car with me keeping me calm.

On a much more positive note, Meghann + Jon chose such a gorgeous venue for their nuptials! From the breathtaking approach as you pull into the drive, to the intimate ‘barn’ where their guests enjoyed a superb dinner, and to the options for indoor/outdoor reception spaces. My favorite had to have been the 1940 Senior Packard Limousine they rented for the afternoon to take photos with. What a beauty!

Meghann + Jon, thank you so much for including me in your wonderful list of vendors and for choosing me to document your wedding day! Hope you had a wonderful time on your honeymoon!

Vista Point | Norfolk, Virginia | Wedding | Krizia + Brian

Krizia + Brian’s wedding was a special day. Not only was it a day where two families were coming together but it signified the end of a lot of planning and a celebration of life. They were married in a beautiful ceremony at St Mark Catholic Church mixed with Filipino traditions, followed by a party at Vista Point in Norfolk. Krizia looked absolutely gorgeous in her blush Maggie Sottero Designs gown. You can’t discount Brian. He was pretty darn dapper in his blue suit adorned with a shotgun shell boutonniere. I loved that subtle, masculine detail.

When Krizia + Brian mentioned they were having 15 attendants I initially was a bit overwhelmed. However, they were the best bridal party I have ever worked with! They were patient, willing to walk down the street to a new location, mature and great listeners! They truly had an awesome group of friends and family at their side on their wedding day, loving and supporting them.

These two were so wonderful to work with. Easy going, supportive of my vision and sweet as can be. Can’t wait to have them in front of my lens again! Thank you, Krizia + Brian, for choosing me to be a part of your day!

The Mill at Fine Creek | Virginia Wedding | Jamie + Ryan

The Mill at Fine Creek in Virginia is such a pretty place for a wedding! Between the ruins as a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony, the river for portraits and the cottage architecture to warmly greet your guests, it has everything. The food was pretty delicious too! I can see why Jamie + Ryan selected this place. The venue really has taken the time to create inviting details within the well maintained landscape. I got there early to walk around since it was my first time visiting and every 5 steps I would look over somewhere else and say to my assistant, “oh my gosh, this place is pretty”!

Jamie + Ryan, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! You two were such a pleasure to work with. I may have even gotten a little teary eyed during your emotional ceremony. The love Ryan has for Jamie when he looks at her….no words are needed. His eyes say it all. So incredibly sweet. Enjoy this peachy-keen wedding!

Williamsburg Inn | Wedding | Virginia | Jaime + Ronen

This Williamsburg Inn wedding in Williamsburg, Virginia was a beauty. First off, the venue alone has gorgeous grounds for portraits and right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. I can see why Jaime + Ronen chose this place for their destination wedding. These two live in South Florida but said “I Do” in Virginia. Destination weddings are the best! Their jewish ceremony was full of tradition, emotion and even a little laughter. The sunset ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour under the string lights while Jackass Flats strummed their instruments. From there, the guests enjoyed a modern affair inside with lounge furniture, white draping throughout the room and Rodney from Astro keeping the dance floor hopping. I dig the modern style and it was nice to see a bit of that here in Virginia! They really wanted their guests to have a great time and were very thoughtful about the details. There were several food stations throughout the room, a cigar station outside and had a place setup on the patio you could make s’mores. Any wedding that has a s’mores station moves to the top of my list!

Jaime + Ronen, thank you so much for allowing me to get to know the two of you and for choosing me to document your wedding day. You two will hold a special place in my heart!

Belle Isle | Bridal | Richmond, Virginia

Jamie’s bridal session at Belle Isle in Richmond, Virginia are some of my absolute favorite images! I have been bursting at the seams to be able to share these!!! A beautiful setting along the James River, a perfect evening and a gorgeous bride. It could not have been better. Payton of Pearls and Perfection did a wonderful job on Jamie’s hair and makeup. I am obsessed with that lip color! Jamie, thank you for being so willing to take a little walk to explore a new place with me! You are a beautiful person, inside and out.
